I'm a fan fan of Slayer for a couple of reasons. First, of course is the music. There is no other band like them as far as I'm concerned. The music is intense, brutal and fucking loud, just the way I like my music! The other reason is because of the guys themselves. I was lucky enough to get to meet them in '98 I think on the Diabolus tour in Charlotte,NC. They were cool enough to come out by the road to talk to us fans that were out there hoping to meet them and talk to them, and there was only about 8 of us out there. Yet they took the time to come out, greet, thank and talk to us. They are an extraordinary group of guys who truly care about their fans. Very down to earth and appreciative of ALL of their fans, as we are them. That, for me, was the clincher. Bands that actually care about the fans and take the time to talk to them, even if there is only a few at the time, are a truly humble and thankful group of guys. And that is something that a lot of bands lack in this day and age. So, I have a ton of respect for them as people, as well as a great band!
