by suKiTYup waited for ever and ever for SLAYER to go to El Paso TX....thanks for NOT trying to fit us in. Your show would have sold out because your fans from MEXICO would have shown up as well. Slayer has a large fan base in El Paso, too bad you let em down.

by katzbalgerI'm 29 years old and reside in Southeast Texas. I would put our part of the country up against any other part insofar as density of metal fans in the populace. I started listening to metal in 89 when the first videos off of Megadeth's RUst in Peace hit the air, and Metallica's One. My Mexican friends introduced me to Slayer, and I've been a fan of them since I was in 6th grade. I'm not Latino personally, but I think Slayer is making a grave error in judgement by discounting the enormity ...

by el_mariachiDue to Toms very unfortunate medical events, the Belgium show in the AB was postponed to march 17th, 2010. But this one was also cancelled. The show in the AB is an indoor hall for 2000 persons. The show was sold out in less then 45 minutes or something like that. For the cancel, it's proposed to refund the tickets but not the delivery and reservation costs. However, Slayer comes to Graspop in june. This sucks. There's a lot of anger amongst the fans who bought a ...

by HANNEMANKINGThe reason why is that the new dates will not be good for me. I bought them before the cancellation. I have 2 tickets: _ at Milan, Italy, on June 29 or 30; - at Zurich, Switzerland, on August, 05th. You can buy it via PayPal or eBay at friendly prices. My e-mail is hpoint@ig.com.br Thank you.

by HANNEMANKINGLook at that: I bought tickets for a Slayer show in Milan, Italy and Zurich, Switzerland, and I also bought an airplane ticket, everything prior to the cancelation and reschedule of the tour. However, the new dates are not good for me and the ticket sellers are not going to refund me. I live in Brazil and nobody wants to buy my tickets and I will also lose U$150.00 to the airplane company whether I cancel or reschedule my flight. God hates us all, but it seems he hates me a little bit ...

by infernalXSHeres my story,Slayer said they were coming to texas,I bought my tickets & now they arent coming to texas.I guess God hates us all and Slayer just hates their fans in texas.thanks for the huge let down.

by GlizerdI was hoping to be able to tell my experience, but Slayer canceled our show in El Paso Texas and I do not see an upcoming date for El Paso!

by FABIUSIl primo concerto che ho visto dei mitici SLAYER è il Clash Of Titans del 1991 a Milano. FANTASTICO !!!!!

by futhalunkaThat was one of the most brutal and fucking exhilirating shows ever. Alice in Chains started it, yeah i know i didn't understand either. Next came Anthrax, and they got the Omni pumped. I had floor seats and the chairs starting flying. After Anthrax they decided to take up all the floor seats, so the Omni (which was a pretty big place) became one pit. Then Megadeth came on, it was building in intensity!!! Finally Slayer hit the stage, it was a perfect build up and culmination of fury. ...

by chris slayTHIS IS NOT ABOUT SLAYER!!!!!! ITS ABOUT MEGADETH,WHEN I SAW THEM WITH LAMB OF GOD,AND A FEW OTHER BANDS THAT DONT COME TO MIND RIGHT NOW.THEY PUT ON A KILLER SHOW BUT WHEN THEY STARTED TO PLAY "IN MY DARKEST HOUR" ONE OF THERE BEST SONGS(BECAUSE ITS ABOUT CLIFF BURTON)AND SOMEONE THREW A DRINK WHERE THE MIXING BOARDS WERE AND YOU COULD BARELY HERE DAVE SINGING> THE WHOLE PLACE WENT QUIET JUST SO THEY COULD HEAR THE SONG. To all fans and especially to SLAYER, I bow TO MY MASTERS( SLAYER) May I write that I remember it as if it were yesterday that I was roadie to my cousin's band-WITCHKILLER back in 1983 and one night if I can remeber correctly when I went to the Spectrum which is where they were playing here in Montreal, Canada I seen that there was this band SLAYER opening up for them, IF I ONLY KNEW, that this band was at thier beginning of their reign in BLOOD, while I was ...

by GriM714When the time came dat SLAYER hit the stage.. i was in amazement..shock...and speechles..probably since i've always wanted to see them since the 4th/5th grade and my bf made it happen this year.. Anyways though, SLAYER was tearing up the stage, the crowd was unbelievable! i myself almost broke my knee~! Dont know what the fuck took over me or my boyfriend, but he was pumped as well. He lookedover at me and said "AYY WHEN THEY GONNA PLAY RAINING BLOOD!" THEN SAID "BABE I'LL BE BACK!" as ...

This album is a great follow-up to Reign In Blood and here's why: it doesn't sound like they tried to record Reign In Blood II. They experiment with more depth and different tempos. It doesn't have the same energy as Reign In Blood but it still holds up. Silent Scream and Ghosts of War are my faves on this one. This album and Seasons In The Abyss are number 2 and 3 of my favorite Slayer records - its just hard to pick one over the other.
before you see the light......
you must dieeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
this lyric is..........AWESOME!!!!!!
Now this is what I call a killer follow up from reign in blood, which indroduces a more mellow style even though still containing all the classic killer traits, stand out songs here are "South of Heaven" "Silent Scream" and for a real good mellow song "Spill the Blood"
When I first bought this album I was really hoping for something along the lines of RIB and when the title track started playing I was a bit disappointed. As the album progressed though, I picked up on some of the faster stuff and thought it was okay. The song SOH has grown on me over the last 21 years, particularly due to its intensity and of course some of the other songs are cool too but overall, I found this album to be quite patchy and haven't played it in its entirety for nearly 20 years.
this album follws up RIB thats why some fans look so disapointed but no album is so perfect as reb but south of heaven is a great album
It would have been a shame if Slayer had tried to repeat RIB, and thankfully they never. SOH is a classic in itself and just as heavy in a different way. Nothing will fully compare to RIB so I think this album suffered being the follow up, but I would urge people to listen to it again with impartialiaty and enjoy the originallity of this album. Awesome......
Read between the lies... classic!
Mandatory Suicide... Epic!
South of Heaven... WOW!!!
This was my first Slayer album. I had RIB on tape but this was the first that I actually went out and bought. And it was worth every penny and every bit of the 5 mile round trip I had to walk to go buy it. Never looked back since. And now I own a proper copy of RIB aswell......
This album is completely different from all the past with mid tempo on few songs.
Lots of classic songs too with south, silent, live, mandatory & ghost and Judas song is really cool.
Another master piece of Thrash metal.
Chaos rampant in an age of distrust
Confrontation impulsive sabbath
On and on south of heaven
On and on south of heaven...

Re: South Of Heaven
This is my first Slayer album, and would have been my first tour...something magical about this, Tom's screaming and melodic brooding as I like to call it, this album is definitely tormented. One of my top 3.
