I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...Slayer scared the crap out of me when I was first introduced to the song "Hell Awaits" back in the '80's. My friends and I were hanging out in the city cemetery one evening when one of them asked me to listen to the song. The sun was at dusk at that time when I began seeing shadows come out from behind the trees during the beginning of the song "Hell Awaits," with its creepy and evil tones. Then, the song began to just rock out loud, making my hair stand up. I got an adrenaline rush from hell and have enjoyed Slayer ever since.
Re: Haunting The Chapel
This album inspired me after I had it for a while. I carried all my music with me, including Slayer, when I was deployed to the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm. The song "Chemical Warfare" was listened to every day possible from my Sony Walkman and cassette of the album as I watched the oil wells burn of those toxic fumes in the middle-east. There is no telling of what other chemicals were in the air that I breathed 10 miles off the coast of Kuwait and Iraq. Hail Slayer!
Glenndamien!
