The mighty Slayer has confirmed a release date for the band's 10th studio album: World Painted Blood will be released on Monday 2nd November. In addition, Slayer has revealed the complete and correct track listing for the album that can be found on the band's newly-designed, just-launched website: www.slayer.net

"As we're so excited about World Painted Blood," said the band's Dave Lombardo, "we wanted to do something special for the packaging, and have been working with some really cool ideas. They've taken time to get just right, and with our headlining the Mayhem tour for most of the summer, it's just taken that much longer to get all these great ideas exactly the way we want them."

There will be three different editions of World Painted Blood - a limited edition CD with multiple CD covers, a deluxe edition CD/DVD, and a high-quality, 180-gram vinyl edition; specifics for all editions will be detailed shortly.

"We hope our fans will like everything about World Painted Blood as much as we do," Lombardo continued. "Recording this new album has been one of the greatest experiences we've had as a band. We were together during the writing process more than we had been for past albums, we worked more collectively, everyone's suggestions and ideas were heard and considered, and that camaraderie is definitely heard in the new album.

Yup waited for ever and ever for SLAYER to go to El Paso TX....thanks for NOT trying to fit us in. Your show would have sold out because your fans from MEXICO would have shown up as well. Slayer has a large fan base in El Paso, too bad you let em down.
  • I'm 29 years old and reside in Southeast Texas. I would put our part of the country up against any other part insofar as density of metal fans in the populace. I started listening to metal in 89 when the first videos off of Megadeth's RUst in Peace hit the air, and Metallica's One. My Mexican friends introduced me to Slayer, and I've been a fan of them since I was in 6th grade. I'm not Latino personally, but I think Slayer is making a grave error in judgement by discounting the enormity ...
  • Due to Toms very unfortunate medical events, the Belgium show in the AB was postponed to march 17th, 2010. But this one was also cancelled. The show in the AB is an indoor hall for 2000 persons. The show was sold out in less then 45 minutes or something like that. For the cancel, it's proposed to refund the tickets but not the delivery and reservation costs. However, Slayer comes to Graspop in june. This sucks. There's a lot of anger amongst the fans who bought a ...

The reason why is that the new dates will not be good for me. I bought them before the cancellation. I have 2 tickets: _ at Milan, Italy, on June 29 or 30; - at Zurich, Switzerland, on August, 05th. You can buy it via PayPal or eBay at friendly prices. My e-mail is hpoint@ig.com.br Thank you.

Look at that: I bought tickets for a Slayer show in Milan, Italy and Zurich, Switzerland, and I also bought an airplane ticket, everything prior to the cancelation and reschedule of the tour. However, the new dates are not good for me and the ticket sellers are not going to refund me. I live in Brazil and nobody wants to buy my tickets and I will also lose U$150.00 to the airplane company whether I cancel or reschedule my flight. God hates us all, but it seems he hates me a little bit ...
  • Heres my story,Slayer said they were coming to texas,I bought my tickets & now they arent coming to texas.I guess God hates us all and Slayer just hates their fans in texas.thanks for the huge let down.
  • I was hoping to be able to tell my experience, but Slayer canceled our show in El Paso Texas and I do not see an upcoming date for El Paso!

That was one of the most brutal and fucking exhilirating shows ever. Alice in Chains started it, yeah i know i didn't understand either. Next came Anthrax, and they got the Omni pumped. I had floor seats and the chairs starting flying. After Anthrax they decided to take up all the floor seats, so the Omni (which was a pretty big place) became one pit. Then Megadeth came on, it was building in intensity!!! Finally Slayer hit the stage, it was a perfect build up and culmination of fury. ...

To all fans and especially to SLAYER, I bow TO MY MASTERS( SLAYER) May I write that I remember it as if it were yesterday that I was roadie to my cousin's band-WITCHKILLER back in 1983 and one night if I can remeber correctly when I went to the Spectrum which is where they were playing here in Montreal, Canada I seen that there was this band SLAYER opening up for them, IF I ONLY KNEW, that this band was at thier beginning of their reign in BLOOD, while I was ...

  • When the time came dat SLAYER hit the stage.. i was in amazement..shock...and speechles..probably since i've always wanted to see them since the 4th/5th grade and my bf made it happen this year.. Anyways though, SLAYER was tearing up the stage, the crowd was unbelievable! i myself almost broke my knee~! Dont know what the fuck took over me or my boyfriend, but he was pumped as well. i want it now. but im poor so cant
lol

I want all the different & i don' t want to wait more.

I think its fair to say we all want the 4 different covers and the deluxe version, so why isn't somebody doing a package where you can order all 4 covers together to make sure you get them? I would definately order it. I love collecting Slayer merch...and I'm sure there's millions of us that do.....

How much longer? It's like waiting for the school holidays when you were a kid!!!!..........

It is finally here. And it was worth the wait. It's not just my excitement speaking but I trully believe this is they're best album to date. It has a bit of everything and more besides. I'll say no more at the moment as you will all have your own copies soon enough and we'll all exchange views then. As it is I'm wasting valuable listening time writing this....ha ha ....

Wow. What an album. Get's better with every listen.....

all slayer fans...check out the underground king of deathrap! NECRO new album DIE! in stores Feb 2010...cop one or DIE!

When are the other covers going to be released ?
Having just 1 of the 4 covers is fucking torture.

World Painted Blood.

When I first heard Psychopathy Red I got it into my head that the entire album would be that angry when it finally got released......how wrong was I.

The album to me is like a creature that changes it shape but in a savage evil twisted way.
World Painted Blood as track 1 gives a false sense of security with its intro but then it punches you in the fucking head leaving the listener (me) almost dazed, the next 3 tracks just leaves you reeling......then another knock out punch with Hate Worldwide and if that's not enough to keep you focused you get a massive punch in the guts with Public Display of Dismemberment.
By now I was thinking that this is enough punishment for any self respecting metal head then Human Strain is without a shadow of a doubt the track that will floor you and leave you speechless wondering "what the fuck have I done to myself this time" or more to the point what the fuck have Slayer done to me this time.
Americon bursts into life and sets your mind up for the onslaught that is Psychopathy Red, Playing with Dolls is the difference maker and the title almost leads you to believe that it will be a nice mellow track......like fuck it is, onto the final act of violence that is Not of this God.

After hearing the album for the first time I was totally shocked thinking Slayer had gone through some form of metal transformation and I remember feeling that this new album would put a lot of critics in their place, after the 18th time of hearing it (in the first day) I felt proud that buying a copy of Show No Mercy (on picture disc) in 1984 would lead me here to 2009 where I am stunned by the recording quality, the creative edge and the brutality that World Painted Blood presents us with.

Thank you Slayer.

A couple of months later and WPB still sounds as good as the first time I heard it. I still think it's Slayers finest album and I firmly believe it will stand the test of time like RIB has. OK it's not genre defining or as cutting edge as RIB was in 1986 but nothing ever will be again will it? I don't think Slayer could have done anything to make it any better (other than maybe giving it to us for free!!!) and I can't wait to see the live show when they reach us here in the u.k.
