I'm 29 years old and reside in Southeast Texas. I would put our part of the country up against any other part insofar as density of metal fans in the populace. I started listening to metal in 89 when the first videos off of Megadeth's RUst in Peace hit the air, and Metallica's One. My Mexican friends introduced me to Slayer, and I've been a fan of them since I was in 6th grade. I'm not Latino personally, but I think Slayer is making a grave error in judgement by discounting the enormity of it's Latino and specifically Tejano fanbase in the American South. It's a fucking JOKE that they plan to just skip through here on their way to CA.
So what are we supposed to do? Buy a new copy of Decade of Aggression? More than a decade out of date now? I've worn my copy out and I've missed every opportunity to catch Slayer that has ever come within my range. This time I bought tickets as soon as the show was announced.
If ticket sales were the problem then this is ludicrous. Houston is one of the biggest cities in the entire world, with I bet at least 500,000 metal fans considering it's overall population. I have never been to a metal show of ANY sort in H-Town that wasn't so packed it was uncomfortable. We even packed the Engine Room to capacity to see Phil's sorry ass with that joke of a band Superjoint Ritual. Look at the upcoming shows at a place like the Meridian, a very diverse venue, and see how lopsided the list is in favour of metal? Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Megadeth, Exodus, Testament, Sonata Arctica, Primal Fear, Fear Factory, Skeletonwitch, Finntroll, Bleeding Through... all these bands are playing Houston this year. Hell, Mustaine manned up and is playing FOUR fucking dates in Texas. FOUR! But Slayer couldn't manage even one stop?
What disturbs me the most is the lack of any sort of information from the band of it's PR on the issue. We just got anonymous refunds. No sorry about that, no attempt to make amends to the people whose hard earned cash was tied up in the show's tickets for fucking MONTHS before a LITERAL 11th hour flakejob, or consolation for those who ordered paper tickets and are now fucked on the shipping and processing charges.
Anything at all would be better than what we've gotten, a pair of wet nuts dragged through our face. A token of appreciation to the loyal fans who held out, just KNOWING that the dates would be rescheduled, a bumper sticker, even a fucking shout out on the website to the individual cities who are now being skipped over, JUST to let the fans affected know that Slayer isn't just saying fuck all of us.
Megadeth at least had the balls to do Texas. I know very well that they aren;t a moire popular band than Slayer in our state... but come 2011, they just may be.

Toms postsurgey interview
I saw Toms post surgery interview.He said it was important to him to tell all the fans thanks for their support.How is he gonna do that for all the fans in Texas?The Houston show got cancelled without anything said by the band,no apology,nothing.We just got crossed off the list completely.
It seems to me that Slayer really doesnt care about their fans here in Texas,and that is a shame cause there are ALOT of us.It is pretty hard for me to continue to support them if we dont get any kind of reaction from the band,apology or otherwise.

the man just had bck surgery I don't know if you know what that involves but it is not an easy procedure so shut the f up and try to see them at an other show I lived in texas and it sucked ass so I know how you feel but have some compasion and stop whining like a littel girl and get out of hillbilly country!!!!!!
Big 4 Tour
I just want to raise my petition to SLAYER for bringing the "BIG 4 TOUR" to every major city in this world painted blood !! Im living now in Mexico city and it would be awesome to have the chance to experience this line-up for once in my life.
I've been a metalhead since i was 4, discovered SLAYER when i was 14 and they have been my favourite band ever since. And one "wish" that i've had since '87 is to witness a tour wich includes SLAYER & METALLICA. I don't care about any other bands, but these two...fuck...i would kill to be part of such an event.
That would be the IRON MAIDEN/JUDAS PRIEST equivalent !!!
So Tom, KK, Dave & Jeff...think about it. This bill would sell like cokes in the desert in any country in the world, so...bring it to this side of the pond !!!
And if you wanna make it extraspecial...make it a Thrash Nation World Festival and throw in Overkill, Testament, Exodus, Heathen, Death Angel, Danzig, Suicidal Tendencies, DRI and special guests Kreator & Sodom !!!

I agree with everything this guy is saying.I bought my tickets as soon as I heard they were coming & now no show.At least tell us why you promised to come here & then screwed us,we at least deserve to know why we are left out.As of right now it seems like Slayer doesnt care about their fans.This summer I already had to go to San Antonio to see them.We at the least deserve an explaination cause right now I think Slayer is all about the money they will get for all the summer festivals & they dont care about the fans who save their money to go see them every time they come to town.Slayer is my favorite band but I gotta say right now for leaving Houston out of the tour with no apology or explaination,FUCK SLAYER.Since the show was cancelled I have not listened to them nor wore any merch I already have.If they dont respect their fans I will not support them.
