- by ork476I've seen slayer live seven times with my most recent one being with exodus and rob zombie. I wasn't disappointed at all even though Jeff Hanneman wasn't playing I still had a blast. My friends that had never been to a slayer show are now hooked and are ready to go again next summer. Hope you get well Jeff and I hope to see you again sometime next summer. Horns up!!!

Besides the fact that Gemini is one of the best songs out there, there is a bass roll in the first or second chorus of Abolish Govt that makes me very happy.

Everything about this album is awesome. The production and song choices are all top notch. Punk was good in nature and here's how powerful it could have sounded if the punk bands had any good production or musical chops. I always thought the Verbal Abuse album was so underrated by the punk community. Too bad a bunch of idiots got the wrong idea from Minor Threat's "Guitly of Being White". Thanks to Tom for stirring that pot a little bit more.
Now this is obviously cover songs and I relized that when I braught it and had a listen, but it was quite poor, the production and quiality was killer but the songs themselves I never got into only "I Hate You" now that as a killer song
Sounds like Slayer...but isn't!! A good enough album (especially Gemini), but this really proves that Slayers style only really suits they're own material. And to be honest, that's all I want to hear them play anyway. I'd rather wait a couple of years for an original album than get another covers album again like this. That said I like it more each time I hear it..
On this record we can hear which music is Jeff influences & when you listen results it 's simply famous, simply Slayer...
And this cover is exactly like in the front of a Slayer show, just cooooooooooooolllllllllllllllll...
What would be cool is for Slayer to do an album of re-recordings of they're earlier material. Some of the older albums suffer a bit from bad production. I know this only adds to the nostalgia and all that but imagine some of those songs done again as Slayer sound now. Woah...............
Impressive & aggressive punk covers, this album made me like punk bands such as T.S.O.L., Minor Threat & Verbal Abuse. Gemini is the best song in the album, only track sounds like Slayer!!!
